Fun Day at Hessel Park | Champaign, IL Photographer

August 11, 2017

This family and I go way back. I mean waaaaay back, as in before children way back.

I still remember meeting them for the first time at the Arboretum for their maternity session before they were officially called Mom and Dad and it has been such an amazing honor to be along on this journey with them over the years. So fast forward some years and now we have two sweet beautiful girls in the picture.

I remember when Parker was newborn...

And Peyton...

And so many other fun sessions in between...especially when I was photographing the beautiful little Miss Parker and found out that Peyton was on the way!!!

It is so much fun to watch them grow. So now instead of bean bags and blankets, we have graduated to playful sessions at the park.

With so many of my clients, the question always comes up and the most important thing it seems is location, location, location. Some are hesitant to choose a new location such as a playground, a fun session in the sprinkler, playing games in the family living room, or a bike ride, because they are concerned they will not get the family photo. Regardless of where the session is, we will always get one, I promise ;)  I encourage changing up location because you need a variety of images that tell your family's story.  This family was up for adventure and I couldn't be happier with how the session turned out.

For this family, right now, life is all about play. There will come a day {sniff} when the girls are no longer interested in the playground.

But either way, they will remember these summer days as spending lots of mornings and afternoons outside playing with and chasing the girls around on playgrounds. Summers are and always will be absolutely epic with children in the picture. Since Hessel park is one of their favorites, we decided to go for something that I knew would give them a nice family portrait, but would also capture the girls in their element.

Thank you for calling on me to document this incredible journey with you and for all of the fun memories! I look forward to many more.
